Over sixty South African colleagues, friends and our affiliates toasted a hearty farewell to 2009 at our SAABC Holiday Networking Mixer and South African wine tasting.
Wine distributors Cape Ardor and Smith Wines poured leading South African wines which are available in the local US market - or please contact them directly through their websites for holiday specials for SAABC members.

Cape Ardor is a San Francisco based company that is focusing exclusively on bringing quality South African wines to the United States market. The company owned by Eric Matkovich, a native of California, and his wife, Kara van Niekerk, a native of South Africa was established as what they see as a necessary instrument to bring the quality and culture of South Africa to the American pallet. The wine they will be representing at the BBC are as follows: Diemersfontein, Raka, Ridgeback, La Petite Ferme, Villiera
Smith Wines is based in Palo Alto, CA. Their main goal is to bring international award winning, boutique style wines from South Africa to the US market and consumer. Their strong links with South Africa and associates grants them direct access to some of the best players and knowledge within the SA Wine Industry. The Company is owned by Peter Smith, a native of Cape Town, South Africa and his wife, Danielle (Guglielmelli) Smith, a native from Palo Alto, CA. This was an exiting journey and marriage between two top wine producing and appreciative nations, where Peter Smith represented the South African Wine culture and heritage and Danielle Guglielmelli represented the American Dream and "pallet". The wines they will be representing at the BBC are Groenland-Stellenbosch and Slanghoek- Rawsonville. Their 2010 portfolio will include Zorgvliet, Val De Vie, Boland Cellars, Swartland Winery and Major's Hill.

DEC 8: Invictus benefit and pre-screening hosted by Warner Brother's CEO/Chairman
SAABC members were graciously invited to join Warner Brother's chairman and CEO Barry Meyerand and his wife Wendy who hosted a benefit in Los Angeles on Tuesday December 8th in support of USC School of Social Work.
